Top ranked Latvian guard Kitija Laksa will visit Maine and then USF starting tomorrow. The 6′ guard from Riga is one of the best prospects in the 2015 class. Under the radar as she played in the B division European Championships over the years and missing in action this summer at the u18 level as she had already competed for the u20 and Senior National team. Laska first impressed in the summer of 2011 where she avg 14 pts a game in the u16 European Championships at the age of 15. Each summer her game has developed and she showed her class when playing in the London Blue Star Europe Tournament, at that time, visiting Mike Flynn compared her to a young Sue Bird. Laksa can play at the highest level in the NCAA and if she choses to make her commitment after these first visits either Coach Baron or Fernandez will be pleased to welcome another top International prospect to their program.
